NMS will be holding a Food For Fines drive, until February 16, to help the local food pantry as well as to help students settle outstanding NMS library fines. Students may donate one in-date-code canned, boxed or packaged food item per $1 of his/her fine; however, smaller single-serving items such as ramen noodles must be in multiples of 4 to equal a dollar. This may NOT be used to offset the cost of lost or damaged books; only fines. The food pantry is in particular need of canned soup, any kind of Helper meals (hamburger, tuna, chicken) as well as cereal (NO CHEERIOS please -they have enough of that brand already.) The library staff will be handling the collection and bookkeeping on this, so please send any participating students to the library to take care of this at your discretion.
Nippersink Middle School Tubing Night
Come join your friends for a fun evening of snow tubing down Wilmot Mountain. The Snow Tubing Area is over 1,000 feet long, has 20 tubing lanes and a state of the art covered conveyor lift to take you back up the hill! Daytime top speeds are 38 mph and Night time speeds can exceed 50 mph - So come prepared for a thrill!
Date: Wednesday, February 21st, 2018
Time: 4:00 to 8:00 pm
Where: Wilmot Mountain Tubing Facility. The Snow Tubing Facility is located at the intersection of Fox River Rd (HWY W) and 125th St (HWY CK), which is south of the ski and snowboarding area.
Cost: $25 (includes tube rental and ticket). Concessions are available for students to purchase for additional cost. Transportation to/from the facility will NOT be provided.
IMPORTANT! A Rental Agreement / Release Waiver MUST be filled out and signed by a parent or legal guardian before the fun can begin!!!
Please fill out the permission slip and return it along with your payment (cash or check made out to NMS PTO) and a completed Waiver form to the NMS office by Monday, February 19th . These documents are in the Virtual Backpack.
The Valentine's Dance has been rescheduled. The dance will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 4:30-6:30.

The feature movie will be Hotel for Dogs. Two packages are available. Silver Package: Popcorn, Small Bottled Water, Movie. VIP Package: Popcorn, Drink of Choice, Movie, Pizza, 1 concession Item.

Nippersink Middle School Office will be closed from December 25, 2017 until January 5, 2018 for Winter Break.

The NMS PTO will be participating in the Scrip Fundraising Program. The Scrip Program allows parents and friends of NMS to purchases gift cards for many different local business. A percentage of the money spent using the gift card will be returned to the school. Please consider participating in this program when you are buying or giving holiday presents. Attached is an Introductory Letter and Order Form.
Wonder Movie Field Trip
NMS students will be going to special screenings of Wonder at the Fox Lake Theater on Monday, November 20. The cost per student is $6.00. Permission slips need to be returned with payment by November 8 to LA teachers. Cash, checks made out to NMS, and Butter Braid money will all be accepted.
